My approach to the privilege of doing
psychotherapy has been developed over
the past 20 years. My work reflects a
deep belief in the capacity of all of us
to find paths to our authentic selves.
Quite often, change occurs in response
to the unsought life crises which
challenge our abilities, enabling us to
grow new strengths and flexibility.
Because each of us is unique, our work
will be shaped with sensitivity to
your concerns, and will be flexible in
response to the process of therapy.
I am a
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
My experience prior to private practice
included diverse settings: high school
counseling, domestic violence agency,
community mental health, and psychiatric
inpatient hospitalization. This range
of experience supports my treatment for
a variety of issues and with
individuals, couples, families and
groups.
My approach
integrates theory and intervention
strategies from psychodynamic, Jungian,
cognitive-behavioral, and family systems
orientations. Relaxation, guided
imagery, and dream work are sometimes
utilized.
